Mount Moriah's Pastor

 

Pastor Matthew Lehman (pronounced "lay-men") is originally from Eagle Grove, Iowa.  After high school he attended Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge, Iowa, for two years. His final year there, he served as student body president.  From there he attended Concordia Teachers College in Seward Nebraska (now Concordia University Nebraska) for three years.  His studies include music and primary education.  While at the seminary he served as Director of Music at Glendale Lutheran Church in Glendale, MO and Concordia Lutheran Church in Maplewood, MO.  Pastor Lehman graduated from Concordia Seminary in St. Louis in 1997. His vicarage took place at Zion Lutheran Church in Matteson, IL and his first pastoral position is Mount Moriah Lutheran Church in Byron, MN.  He was ordained on July 13, 1997 at St. John Lutheran Church, Vincent, Iowa, which is his home congregation.  He was installed here at Mount Moriah on July 20, 1997.    

 

Pastor Lehman is married to his lovely wife, Michelle (who he met at Concordia Teachers College in Seward, NE) and they have three daughters, Michaela, Sophia and Genevieve.
